(a) Overnight fasting blood sample (8-10 hours). (b) Second sample 2 hours after finishing breakfast or after taking 75 gms of glucose in water. |
| Glucose Challenge Test | Blood sugar estimation 1 hour after 50 gms of glucose. |
| G.T.T | Fasting blood sugar sample. Patient is advised to stay at the clinic to avoid physical exertion. Take 75 gms of glucose in 2 glasses of water. Give blood and urine sample after 1/2 hour, 1 hour, 1-1/2 hours and 2 hours with corresponding urine sample. |
| Gestational Diabetes G.T.T. | Fasting blood sample is taken. Advised to take 100 gms of glucose. Blood sample is collected after 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours with corresponding urine sample. |
| Lipid profile or any one or more from the profile | 12 hours fasting. Abstain from heavy meal or alcohol the previous evening. |
| 24 hours urine sample | Discard first morning sample. Note the time, start collecting all samples thereafter in the container provided by the Lab. For the next 24 hours, include the 1st morning sample on the next day. |
| Semen R/M | Abstinence preferable for 3 days. On the 4th day, semen sample to be collected in clinic or, if collected at home, to be brought to the clinic within 1/2 hour. May be done without abstinence also. |
| ESR | Fasting sample if specifically requested by the referring doctor. |
